Believe in you, For you.

Nobody tells you
it's okay to call yourself beautiful
it's okay to smile at mirrors
and it's perfectly fine
to say your own eyes are pretty.

It is wonderful to love your waist
and your legs
regardless of their size
and you are not conceited
if you use your fingers to list
everything you're good at
rather than point
at all your own flaws

You can acknowledge you're smart
and that you will go places
and you will be someone
greater than your mistakes

You can't always expect
other people to believe in yourself
for you.

Laughed not.

Its funny how hello is always followed with goodbye,
Its funny how good memories can make you want to cry,
Its funny how forever never seems to last,
Its funny how much you'd loose if you forgot about your past,
Its funny how 'friends' can just leave you when you're down,
Its funny how when you need someone they're never around,
Its funny how people change and think they're so much better,
Its funny how many lies are packed into one 'love letter'
Its funny how people forgive, even though they can't forget,
Its funny how one night can contain so much regret,
Its funny how ironic life turns out to be,
But the funniest thing of all is...
...none of that's funny to me.

What's left.

Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you.

Rage.

I can’t stand this rage in me,
to be overgrown with this fire,
The wrath is bruising inside,
The fury suffuses my vision,
It’s so hard to stop the rancor,
All is so violent all is so bright,
That’s why I need to express.

I hope you dance.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me that you’ll give fate a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

The Mermaid.

The mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown.

Some bad rhyming.

Hand in hand,
Arms wound tight.
Side by side.
Like left and right.

Two talk and listen,
with a gaze or two.
My eyes are fixed,
On only you.

Sipping your drink,
Stealing spoonfuls,
Pinching those cheeks,
which only I do.

Going on rides,
both in the car,
Stopping for drinks,
not way too far.

Glisten stars,
we often see.
Way way up,
like you and me.

Perhaps those were memories,
Though they seem so true.
Perhaps they were illusions,
Oh what a rue.

Wouldn't it be funny,
With a kick of scare,
If all this while,
Was some ghost affair.

Like the movie,
You saw, not me.
Though I peaked a little,
Hoping not to pee.

Maybe like the movie,
At the end, it seems,
That it was a ghost story,
Where the girl gleams.

Random thought,
another 'what if',
Say if it were true,
What ever would you do?

So Far Away.

Never feared for anything, never shamed but never free
A life that healed a broken heart with all that it could
Lived a life so endlessly, saw beyond what others see
I tried to heal your broken heart with all that I could
Will you stay? Will you stay away forever?

How do I live without the ones I love?
Time still turns the pages of the book its burned
Place and time always on my mind
I have so much to say but you're so far away

Plans of what our futures hold, foolish lies of growing old
It seems we're so invincible, the truth is so cold
A final song, a last request, a perfect chapter laid to rest
Now and then I try to find a place in my mind
Where you can stay, you can stay awake forever

Sleep tight, I'm not afraid
The ones that we love are here with me
Lay away a place for me
'Cause as soon as I'm done I'll be on my way
To live eternally

I love you, you were ready
The pain is strong enough despise
But I'll see you when he lets me
Your pain is gone, your hands are tied

So far away and I need you to know
So far away and I need you to, need you to know

Believe in Miracles

Believe in your heart that
something wonderful is about to happen.
Love your life.
Believe in your own powers,
and your own potential,
and in your own innate goodness.
Wake every morning
with the awe of just being alive.
Discover each day the magnificent,
awesome beauty in the world.
Explore and embrace life in yourself
and in everyone you see each day.
Reach within to find your own specialness.
Amaze yourself and rouse those around you
to the potential of each new day.
Don’t be afraid to admit
that you are less than perfect;
this is the essence of your humanity.
Let those who love you help you.
Trust enough to be able to take.
Look with hope to the horizon of today,
for today is all we truly have.
Live this day well.
Let a little sun out as well as in.
Create your own rainbows.
Be open to all your possibilities;
all possibilities and Miracles.
Always believe in Miracles.

Paradox.

Is love something good,
or is it something bad?
For sometimes I’d just love
to blast a bullet through your head.

That’s cause when I start loving
That one I’ve always liked
I know he's still only liking
the one by who he’s loved.

I want to listen to my mind telling
that my love will go away.
That my heart should be locked up
And then it all will be okay.

Sadly that’s not made easy,
for love is all around.
Apparently I’m not the only one
who by this torture has been found.

Life is like a river.

Life is like a river,
In the beginning,
It bubbles a lot,
As if forever.

A child also thinks,
He or she,
Can live forever,
They think life’s a crystal stair.

Then the river slows,
as life reaches its lows,
and of course,
it’s highs.

It then becomes smooth,
when we become lazy,
then it feels as if it’s not moving
that’s is our old age

Then it goes out
into the ocean just like
us, going up
into the heavens.

Savor every moment
as the wind blows in your hair
when one life ends
another begins.

I Carry Your Heart With Me.

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Recite one to me.

Poetry is the song of the heart, molded by the mind.
- Roger W. Hancock -
I can't help it, but I just love poetry and poets. Especially if it were for me. Giggles!

xvii.

I don’t love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simple, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way become I don’t know any other way of loving

but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.

My symphony.

To live content with small means,
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion,
to be worthy, not respectable,
and wealthy not rich,
to listen to stars and birds,
babes and sages with open heart
to study hard, to think quietly,
act frankly, talk gently,
await occasions, hurry never in
in a word, to let the spiritual,
unbidden and unconscious,
grow up through the common...
-this is my symphony.

Courage.

Courage is what it takes to stand up to others
Courage is what it takes to make your own decisions
Courage is what it takes to succeed
But it also takes courage to sit down and listen
It also takes courage to admit a loss
It will take courage to respect someone others don’t
Courage is needed to withstand peer pressure

So what does this mean?
Courage is essential in your journey through life.
