Axiomatic.

And I think it could just be one of the greatest sin and/or crime. To have created something wondrous or monstrous without even knowing. It's a shame and pity not knowing what we are. And for some people, it becomes a skill which  thrusts people away. And if they are lucky, people will tell them how or what they are like, so that they can improve. If not, then they shall have to learn it the hard way. It really is the greatest misfortune ever. It's not like you have paparazzi to capture your every mistake and posts them for everyone to see and know, right? 
Other solutions: Bring a mirror everywhere you go to self-check yourself.
...or else, God help us all to gain insight to ourselves.
